How MAGNiTT Collects Data

Multiple data sources, verified and consolidated into one intelligence layer

MAGNiTT’s proprietary database tracks 36,195 companies, 24,240 investment rounds, 8,182 investors, 1,374 exits, and 1,000 funds across Emerging Venture Markets. The platform combines three distinct data sources with a rigorous verification process.

Proprietary submissions

Startups, investors, and funding institutions submit data directly to the MAGNiTT platform. This includes funding amounts, deal stages, dates, investor participants, valuations, and company details. All submitted data enters MAGNiTT’s verification pipeline before publication.

MAGNiTT’s data team contacts over 3,000 funding institutions monthly across its coverage geographies — including VCs, CVCs, angel groups, accelerators, university funds, and family offices — to confirm investment activity and capture deals not yet recorded. This direct institutional outreach is MAGNiTT’s single most important data advantage: it captures deal flow that never appears in English-language press.

Public aggregation

MAGNiTT continuously monitors public announcements, press releases, news coverage, and regulatory filings across Emerging Venture Markets. This includes Arabic-language and local-language sources that global platforms do not systematically cover — a critical advantage in markets where English-language press captures only a fraction of deal activity.

Engineered data

Where deal amounts or valuations are undisclosed, MAGNiTT’s proprietary algorithms produce estimates based on factors including the year of funding, geography of the startup, investment stage, industry classification, and comparable transactions in the dataset. Engineered estimates are clearly flagged on the platform — displayed as ranges in a distinct visual treatment — and treated separately in research analysis to maintain data integrity.

Verification process

Every funding round on MAGNiTT is classified by verification status:

Direct confirmation — from the startup or a participating investor

Third-party validation — from an established media outlet, official press release, or industry publication

Regulatory filing — where applicable in the relevant jurisdiction

Rounds that do not meet any of these criteria are flagged as unverified. This transparency allows users to filter by verification status and calibrate their analysis accordingly.

What makes this data different from global platforms

Global venture data platforms are built primarily on US and European data infrastructure. Their coverage of Emerging Venture Markets relies on English-language press and regulatory filings — sources that systematically undercount deal activity in MENA, Africa, and adjacent regions.

MAGNiTT’s advantage is primary-source depth: direct institutional relationships across the region, monthly outreach to 3,000+ institutions, Arabic and local-language source monitoring, and a verification process designed for markets where public disclosure norms differ significantly from the US and EU.

AI-native data platforms that rely on web scraping and algorithmic inference face an additional limitation: without verified ground-truth data from the region, their models compound the coverage gaps of the public sources they draw from. MAGNiTT is the verified data infrastructure that makes any analytical tool — whether AI-driven or traditional — trustworthy for Emerging Venture Markets.
