How to Add Your Company and Funding Data

MAGNiTT’s database of 36,195 companies, 24,240 investment rounds, and 1,000 funds is built in part from data submitted directly by startups, investors, and funding institutions across Emerging Venture Markets. If your company, fund, or transactions are missing from the platform or incomplete, you can add them by sharing the information with MAGNiTT’s data team.

All submitted data goes through MAGNiTT’s verification process before it is published on the platform.

Add your company or fund

Email data@magnitt.com and share the information you want added to the MAGNiTT platform. To help the data team process your submission, include as much of the following as you can.

For a company:

• Company name and website
• Headquarters country and city
• Founding year
• Primary industry and a short description of what the company does
• Founders and key team members

For a fund:

• Fund name and managing firm
• Vintage year and fund status
• Fund size, where you are able to disclose it
• Geographic and sector focus
• Portfolio companies

Country assignment is based on your verified headquarters location, and industry classification is based on the primary industry you choose, verified by MAGNiTT’s data team.

Add your funding information

There are two ways to add details of funding rounds your company has raised or transactions your firm has participated in.

Option 1: Email the data team. Send the round details to data@magnitt.com, in the same way as adding your company. Include the company name, round stage, amount raised (or note that it is undisclosed), date of close or announcement, participating investors, and a supporting source such as a press release where one exists.

Option 2: Contribute through the data contributor process. MAGNiTT’s data team runs periodic outreach to funding institutions across its coverage geographies, including VCs, CVCs, angel groups, accelerators, and family offices. As part of this outreach, the team shares a customised form where your firm can add the details of transactions it has completed. This is the most efficient route for investors with multiple deals to report.

Where a round amount is undisclosed, MAGNiTT may display an engineered estimate as a range, clearly flagged on the platform.

What happens after you submit

MAGNiTT’s data team reviews every submission against its classification methodology. Data confirmed directly by the startup or a participating investor is classified as direct confirmation, the highest verification tier on the platform. Funding rounds are assigned one of eleven stage tags, and companies are classified by headquarters location and primary industry.

To update or correct data that is already on the platform, email data@magnitt.com with the details of the change.
